Web & Print Technology

Computer with images coming outWeb & Print Technology prepares individuals to apply HTML, JavaScript, Wordpress, Design to code websites, graphics applications and other authoring tools to the design, editing, and publishing (launching) of documents, images, graphics, sound, and multimedia products on the World Wide Web. Includes instruction in internet theory, web page standards and policies, elements of web page design, user interfaces, vector tools, special effects, interactive and multimedia components and animations, search engines, navigation, ecommerce tools, and emerging web technologies. Students will learn Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as Animate, Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and InDesign to create logos, business cards, brochures, magazines, and websites animations. Students will study design principles, color theory, typography, illustration techniques, page layout, graphic file formats and digital file output. In addition to becoming skillful in the use and application of Web and Print Design systems, students will also possess a foundation of knowledge that may transfer to other career pathways working in the information technology field. Over a three-year period, students will compile a dynamic portfolio of digital and print projects that will showcase a student’s technical knowledge and creative design process skill set.
