Hodgson
To help ninth grade students make informed career decisions for 10th-12th grade and beyond, Hodgson has each freshman rotate through Career and Technical Education (CTE) areas their first high school year with the instructor who teaches this same career and technical area to the other grade levels. This allows each 9th grader to be immersed in the first level of hands-on training in each area for one block period (90 minutes) a day to get an idea of the career competencies and skills that will be required to attain their CTE certificate in each area at the end of 12th grade.
After rotating for approximately 22 days of school in each of the up to five areas to learn theory and participate in hands-on activities, the students will rank their exploratory preferences that they would like to join for 10th-12th grade and they are placed based on number of spaces available, grades in the CTE areas, attendance, etc. Once selected into a final CTE area, each 9th grade will spend the entire 4th marking period in it before they start 10th grade in that same CTE placement for a block period (90 minutes) per day.
Each freshman, on their Hodgson application, choose areas that they would like to rotate through their first year. Options are:
Auto Body
Auto Technology

Computer Network Administration (CNAP)
