Dr. Shanta Reynolds began his career as a Social Studies teacher at Delcastle Technical High School. In 2005, he was named Delcastle Teacher of the Year and Social Studies District Teacher of the Year. After six terrific years of teaching, he was selected to serve as the district social studies specialist. Some of his primary responsibilities involved developing curriculum and assessments, facilitating professional development, and serving as a liaison between the Delaware Department of Education and the NCCVT School District. In 2010, he was appointed assistant principal at St. Georges Technical High School. Dr. Reynolds met the awesome challenge and responsibility of supervising the majority of the academic programs and leading professional development. The following school year, Dr. Reynolds was transferred to Howard High School of Technology. At Howard, he supervised the health career cluster, school nurses, 11th and 12th grade academic courses, and planned/facilitated professional development. Currently, Shanta is the proud principal of St. Georges Technical High School. Dr. Reynolds’ educational background includes earning a Bachelor of Art degree in Social Science Education from University of Maryland Eastern Shore, a Master’s degree in Educational Technology from the University of Delaware, and a Doctorate of Education in Administration & Policy from the University of Delaware.
