School Board President Yvette Santiago performed the swearing in ceremony for new board member Nello M. Paoli, Jr., at the December 18 meeting of the NCC Vo-Tech Board of Education. Paoli has been appointed to a 7-year term by Governor John Carney.
A graduate of Delcastle Technical High School and former electrical trades teacher at the school, Paoli is currently the director of business development for Preferred Electric, Inc. He also is an adjunct professor at Wilmington University and is a member of the Delaware Workforce Development Board.
“I want to thank Governor Carney for choosing me to serve on the New Castle County Vo-Tech School District Board”, he said. “As a former student, an electrical apprentice, and a teacher for the District, I am honored to serve in this new capacity. I am a strong advocate of Career and Technical Education, including apprenticeships, and will work to continue the District’s strong tradition of preparing students for future educational and career opportunities.”
